Our Team
Emily Potter is Professor of Writing and Literature at Deakin University. She has a long-standing interest in the relationship between storytelling and place-making, and her research spans Australian literature, reading cultures, creative regional communities, and the intersections of literary narratives, the environment and climate change. Her most recent book is Writing Belonging at the Millennium: Notes from the Field of Settler Colonial Place.
Brigid Magner is Associate Professor in Literary Studies and co-director of the non/fiction Lab research group in the School of Media & Communication at RMIT University. She is the reviews editor for the Literary Geographies journal. Her monograph Locating Australian Literary Memory was published in 2020.
Dr Lisa Cooper is a Mallee-based writer and historian with a passion for highlighting both Mallee history and Australian wartime history. Lisa was awarded First Class Honours in History at Deakin University in 2018. She was awarded a PhD (Deakin University) for her research on Australian war graves in the Pacific from the Second World War. Working as a historian and freelance writer gives her the freedom to combine work with travel.
